Niall Clarke Oils announces – Newry City AFC Special Olympic club as its official charity partner - 06/08/2017 Sunday, 06 August 2017

Ester King – “Newry City AFC Special Olympic Club was founded to offer athletes, in our area, with a learning disability, an opportunity to unite, have fun, build new friendships, learn new skills, build confidences and to develop as a person.

It is so rewarding to see the athletes overcome their fears and hurdles and to develop with confidence.

The first sport offered by our club was soccer. The sports on offer now include ten pin bowling, swimming, kayaking, open water swimming, floor ball and gymnastics. Many of our athletes participate in more than one of these sports at club level.

Special Olympics operates a four year competition cycle, i.e. Area, Regional, Ireland and World games. This coming weekend sees the draw for the Ireland games which will be held in Dublin in June 2018.  Good luck everyone!

As of the last few weeks Niall Clarke Oils customers will be able to donate at our over the counter collection points.
